Radio - Gabriel Viégas

Com ou sem acento agudo, Viegas é um sobrenome que me faz lembrar Arte. O primeiro que me vem à cabeça é o grande ator português que deixou este mundo há 16 anos atrás.

Do outro lado do oceano, mais precisamente em Campinas, cerca de 100 km de São Paulo, Brasil, outro talentoso Viégas - este com acento agudo e que não tem laço de parentesco com o ator lusitano - trocou a calculadora da profissão de economista pela guitarra. E o resultado é esse rock de boa qualidade.

Outra curiosidade é a produção globalizada. Sigam o caminho: Radio foi composta pelo músico alemão Thomas Peter, da banda Thrill of Joy, amigo de Viégas, que fez a gravação em Indaiatuba, cidade vizinha a Campinas. A bateria, mixagem e remasterização ficaram a cargo de outro amigo; o inglês Lee Hawkins, que fez todo o trabalho em seu estúdio em Worcester, no oeste da “Velha Ilha”. Ufa!

I made a new EP this week. It’s five songs, the oldest of which was recorded two years ago in my parents’ basement and the newest of which I finished yesterday.
